Research:
My current research is focused on understanding vascular healing especially after the placement of stents. I was a co-principle investigator for the Gusto IIb substudy comparing direct angioplasty versus thrombolytics for treatment of acute myocardial infarction and continue to evaluate the causes of high risk coronary plaques. Our group is collaborating on new regional systems approaches to providing optimal care of the acute myocardial infarction patient. In addition, I am participating with a group evaluating new approaches for cellular therapy after myocardial infarction.
