Pamela S. Douglas, MD is the Ursula Geller Professor of Research in Cardiovascular Diseases and Director, Cardiovascular Imaging Center at Duke Clinical Research Institute.
Dr. Douglas specializes in cardiovascular imaging, with expertise in new imaging technologies and applications, use of imaging in clinical trials and imaging outcomes and quality. Additional areas of interest include improving cardiovascular health in cancer and chemotherapy cardiotoxicity, women's health, and exercise physiology. She maintains an active clinical practice in echocardiography and critical care cardiology.
Dr. Douglas has published over 300 peer reviewed articles reviews and editorials including over 15 national practice guidelines, and testified before Congress and MedPAC. A nationally recognized scientist, leader and outstanding caregiver, Dr. Douglas served as president of the American Society of Echocardiography in 2001-03, and as the president of the American College of Cardiology in 2005-06 as well as directing the cardiovascular medicine divisions at the University of Wisconsin (2000-2004) and Duke University (2004-2007).
